ProSkinz offers the tattoo apprentice an 8.5 x 11 tattooable canvas. Available in 1 skin tones. ProSkinz are designed to simulate human skin and its attributes as it is being tattooed. We are currently in the research & development phase of other products to accompany our canvas with the purpose of providing more comprehensive tools to aid the tattoo apprentice in honing their craft.
The most common reaction to all tattooable surfaces currently on the market is that they don’t “feel” anything like real skin.
Well, obviously nothing is like the real thing, but through some careful research and development we have gotten pretty close.
ProSkinz is a tattooable canvas, cast and molded to provide the artist with the closest possible feel and texture of actual living skin. Developed to be durable enough to withstand even the heaviest of hands and preserve the integrity of the ink.
Experiment new techniques and color theories without having to “experiment” on a living canvas. Create flash sheets to display in your shop or a portfolio to show customers actual tattooed pieces on ProSkinz as well as photos of your tattoos. It gives the customer a sense of reassurance when they see the actual brush strokes and can feel the tattooed ProSkinz. Frame your ProSkinz and sell them as an extra source of income.
Weather you are a beginning artist honing your skills or a professional exploring new methods or testing new equipment, ProSkinz is a useful resource to have in your armament.
With the growing popularity of tattoos due to the combination of reality shows, social media and a general sense of social acceptance, the art of tattooing has exploded into a major industry. Times have changed while the traditions the craft was founded on in our culture are still prevalent within the tattoo community. Each day there are more and more artist transitioning into tattooing. This has given rise to what is referred to in the industry as the “scratcher.” A scracher is an individual who despite their lack of training or even artistic ability in many cases, will illegally perform a tattoo procedure from a non Health Department sanctioned facility. They have no license, no proper sterilization procedure inspections, no blood borne pathogen training and sub par equipment, therefore exposing people to serious health risks, inflicting unnecessary pain and scaring thus ruining the customer’s living canvas… for life! This is a serious problem.
Traditionally, budding artists would practice using pig skin due to its close resemblance to human skin or on an orange etc. Often times artists will practice on themselves thus ruining their own canvas as well as anyone willing to sit for a free or dirt cheap tattoo. There are synthetic skins available but none actually prepare a future tattooer for what tattooing real living skin feels like. ProSkinz have been tested and developed by professional tattoo artists.
